Quiz 5 resource sheet

By request for those who couldn't access the resource sheet (click to enlarge):

Online theory passwords - Level 1

Even though all online theory is due today, the marks will be printed on Monday (lucky you!). So, if you have some VERY LAST-MINUTE (ahem!) fixes to do, assignments or quizzes to complete, etc. you may do them this weekend. The quiz passwords for Level 1 are as follows (there are no quizzes for Level 2):

Quiz 1 - new3fish
Quiz 2 - fry4day
Quiz 3 - laugh8
Quiz 4 - jogging1
Quiz 5 - swish9

Please don't worry about the comprehensive final exam, as it just popped up this past week and I had told you previously that I would not be including it in the grades because of a lack of adequate class time to complete it.

If you have any other issues (i.e. Can't remember your username, which, by the way, is lastname.firstname with no spaces, or if you forgot your password, etc.) you might just be out of luck as you have known that this due date was approaching for a month now and I am quite sure that it is not humanly possible for me to cater to all 111 band students and their theory needs in the next 24 hours. I will do what I can but I can't promise anything! Congratulations to those of you who have completed your theory and rocked it with 100%! Several of you are in the 90s as well which is just awesome.

Happy last day of classes, everyone!!!!

Summer edits

Hi girls! If you have finished all of your computers assignments, here is one last photo editing topic, in keeping with the theme of school ending for summer, enjoying the heat, etc.

"SUMMER"

I would like you to come up with your own summer-related quotation, or even perhaps edit a photo that has no text but conveys a summer theme. Here are a couple quotations to get you started, in any case:

In summer, the song sings itself. - William Carlos Williams

Summer afternoon - summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language. ~Henry James

Then followed that beautiful season... Summer....
Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light; and the landscape
Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood.
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

"Flip Flops
Belly Tops
Palm Trees
Cute Capris
Sunglasses
Backstage Passes
Top Down
Cruising 'round Town
As the sun Dims
Comes late night Swims
Tan Lines
isn't summer just divine?"

Save your edit as "summer" and hand in to the drop box. Happy editing!

Picnik endings

Hi 8I! Believe it or not, this is the last class that you will have with me, and the second last computers class of the year (your last one will be with a sub). Before you complete the final assignment, you MUST BE CAUGHT UP on the ones that are missing. It is crucial that we have completed "Honk!" letters from everyone before we begin this last photo edit. If you were one of the students who tried to print to the staff room last class, please reprint your letter to the library, as none of the staff room print jobs worked.

Once everything has been handed in, your final assignment is as follows:

Assignment: Endings

Choose an appropriate photo from Google Image Search or your own collection that would complement one of the following quotations:

"If you want a happy ending, that depends, of course, on where you stop your story." - Orson Welles

"Every end is a new beginning." - Proverb

"In my end is my beginning." - T.S. Eliot

"Nature's first green is gold,
her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower,
but only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
so dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay."
- Robert Frost

"If I can put one touch of rosy sunset into the life of any man or woman, I shall feel that I have worked with God." - G.K. Chesterton

“I didn't ask for it to be over. But then again I didn't ask for it to begin. For that's the way it is with life, as some of the most beautiful days come completely by chance. But even the most beautiful days eventually have their sunset.” - Javan

"Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end." - Seneca

When you have completed this assignment, save it with your last name and "endings" and submit it to my drop box.
