"Do not ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive." - Howard Thurman

Computers 8 Typing/Word Processing

Today we are going to continue to create tables and practice our word processing skills while also testing our typing speed.

Open a blank Word document and create a table (you can leave your page setup as is rather than changing it to landscape).  Your table will need 8 rows and 4 columns.  Leave the 1st column/1st row cell blank, and fill in the rest as follows:

Rows:

Astronauts
Aesop's Fables
Rules of Baseball
Tigers in the Wild
Wizard of Oz
Zebras
Enchanted Typewriter

Columns:

Accuracy
Gross WPM
Net WPM

Center justify your text and bold/italicize it.  Save your file as last name, typing progress.

Follow the link to the left for www.typingtest.com and begin by taking the 1-minute test entitled Astronauts.  When the time runs out, all of the information you need to fill in the first row of your table will pop up (Accuracy, gross WPM, and net WPM).  Fill in your table as you go, testing yourself on each of the lessons.
