Playing tests

Band playing tests are almost all finished for Level 1 and 3. If you are in one of those bands but have been away, or without an instrument, etc. then you will need to catch up after the break.

Level 4 scale testing will begin on Monday after the break (during online theory time).

Level 2 scale testing will continue after the break. Please make sure that you are practicing so that you can play your scales with confidence. If you need extra help, please make arrangements to see me. Your tests should take about 2 minutes if you are prepared.

Happy February break! :o)

PS - Thanks to Level 3 band for an awesome rehearsal today! I had so much fun playing and singing with you. Phantom of the Opera was so cool. :oD

Comp 7 - handed in Kshorts letter assignments and typing progress documents, started notes on home row and did some practice tests using the correct fingers for home row left hand on www.typing-lessons.org

IP 10 - nearing the end of our resume assignments - these will continue to be works in progress for several years!

IP 20/30 - beginning the process of sorting and selecting portraits to be used for the homeroom yearbook pages (I am looking into how we will split the grade 8 and 11 photos by homeroom so that they can be in separate "sorts" for page-flowing purposes)

Playing tests

Just a reminder for Level 1, 2, and 4 bands to practice for playing tests, which will continue this week. Level 3, stay tuned (no pun intended) - yours are coming soon!

Level 4 - scale tests - Concert Bb, Eb, F, Ab, C
Level 1 - first 5 notes of concert Bb scale (ascending and descending), "Rolling Along"
Level 2 - Concert Bb #1, Concert Bb #4, Concert Eb #1 (percussionists - substitute Eb #1 for snare roll or Eb scale on mallets - your choice). If you are a beginner on your instrument and cannot yet play these scales, please be prepared to show me a piece from your method book that you have been working on in your practice time.
