One Act Play ideas

Hi Drama 20 students!  Today we are in the Computer Lab looking up possible One Act Plays to perform for our final performance project (May/June).

If and when you find one that you would like considered (for yourself or another group), please comment below with the name of the play, the playwright, a brief synopsis, and the number of cast members required (and gender, if applicable).

We will be working on these plays during class time and performing them for the class audience in June before exams.

Superhero Support Group by D.M. Larson

For 6 actors - 1 Male, 2, Female, 3 Neutral

I like this play; it's pretty funny!
A doctor for superheroes can get rid of powers. Some of the heroes don't want to be super anymore, while others are less convinced.

Genre: Comedy
3 actors (originally 1 female/2 male, but works well with any combination)
Duration: 15 mins
Author: Unknown
Brooke is a busker somewhat down on her luck. One day while busking in the park, she is confronted by two chickens — Chuck and Picard — and they discover, miraculously, that they are able to communicate...

Chuck is a very forward-thinking, chatty and ambitious chicken who has been looking after his disturbed, ex-battery cousin since they escaped the coop. He quickly makes a connection between the errie green light that has been appearing in the sky all morning and the strange phenomenon of being able to talk to a human being. He uses this opportunity to present an offer to Brooke which will change their lives forever.

Time of Green is a very funny comic play, with an ending you will never expect!

Overtones by Alice Gerstenberg

For 4 Female Actors

This play is really interesting! It's a drama about two women who are unhappy with their lives.
Each woman is played by two actresses: there's the proper, controlled individual and the emotional individual underneath.
