Keyboard Shortcuts
Font modification (appearance):
1. Apple (Command) + B = bold
2. Apple (Command) + U = underline
3. Apple (Command) + I = italics
Font size:
1. Apple (Command) + Shift + > = increase font size of highlighted text by 2pts
2. Apple (Command) + Shift + < = decrease font size of highlighted text by 2pts
Justification:
1. Apple (Command) + L = left justify
2. Apple (Command) + R = right justify
3. Apple (Command) + E = center text
Opening and Closing Documents:
1. Apple (Command) + Q = quit program
2. Apple (Command) + O = open a saved document
3. Apple (Command) + N = open a new document
4. Apple (Command) + H = hide all windows in a certain application
5. Apple (Command) + W = close the window
Highlighting Text:
1. Apple (Command) + A = highlight all
2. Apple (Command) + Shift + left/right arrow keys = highlight all text to the left/right of cursor
3. Option + Shift + left/right arrow keys = highlight one word at a time
4. Shift + left/right arrow keys = highlight letter by letter
5. Shift + up/down arrow keys = highlight lines above/below
Other:
1. Apple (Command) + C = copy
2. Apple (Command) + V = paste
3. Apple (Command) + P = print
4. Apple (Command) + Z = undo
5. Apple (Command) + S = save
6. Apple (Command) + Option + Control + 8 = sets screen to negative
7. Apple (Command) + D = font menu/bookmark a page (Internet)
8. Apple (Command) + F = find in document (will need to type search word) (also works in Internet browsers)
Bullets and Numbering:
To make a numbered list, type the number followed by a period, a space, and then enter your text and hit return. The list will start numbering automatically.
1. Pink
2. Green
3. Blue
4. Yellow
5. Red
To make a bulleted list, type an asterisk (Shift + 8 = * ), tab once, type your text and hit return.
