Music Festival Vocal and Strings Awards Concert 2014

Last night was the scholarship awards concert for the first week of Music Festival 2014 - Vocal and Strings. We had lots of Rivier representation at the Festival and the awards concert. What a great amount of talent we have at our school, and so many people willing to share them with others!

This year Rivier (and Prince Albert as a whole) will be represented at Provincial Music Festival by 2 Rivier performers - Emma Eaton in Intermediate (16 & Under) Musical Theatre, and myself in Senior Operatic, Senior Canadian, Senior Musical Theatre Ballad, and Senior Musical Theatre Up-Tempo. Provincials are in Saskatoon again this year, June 6th, 7th, and 8th.

Computers 8C and 8M - Colour and Quote assignment

Hi Grade 8 ladies and gents! The next assignment (once you are finished any outstanding assignments that you may owe me) is called "Colour and Quote" - therefore, when you are finished, it will be saved as Last name, Colour and Quote. The criteria for the assignment is as follows:

1. Choose a high-quality, high-resolution photo from Google Image Search. Be sure to expand it fully before saving it. Aim for approximately 1,000 pixels.

2. Select an appropriate quotation that fits with the picture. If you choose, you may select the quote first and then pick a picture that fits wit it.

3. Edit the photo using either selective colouring, selective boost, or colour boost.

4. Add the quotation to your photo using the "text" tab. Select a word or two that you would like to emphasize (in this case, "dance" - or you could also emphasize "soul"). Put that word in its own text box, then change the font, colour, size, etc. and arrange it with the other words in your quotation.

5. Save it, hand it in, and continue editing your own choice photos if you have extra time. :)
