In extra-exciting news, Rivier will be represented at Provincials this year by multiple performers!

2. Chandra Hollands was recommended for 16 & Under Musical Theatre Up-Tempo
3. I was recommended for Senior Musical Theatre Ballad, and Senior Musical Theatre Up-Tempo
4. The SENIOR CHOIR WAS RECOMMENDED TO PROVINCIALS THIS YEAR! We have been trying to make provincials for 3-4 years now and we finally did it!
Congratulations everyone!
The Level 4 Senior Band will be performing at Festival on March 13th (Wednesday) at 2:30pm. We will be performing "Bucket Beats" - Mvt. I (Kuh-THUNK!) and Mvt. II (Can-O-Saurus). Dress code is jeans, black shirt, and Rivier tie around the head. Eye black may be part of the "uniform" for this performance if we can find it as well.
Good luck to all students who are performing in the Piano Festival this week!

So this one time, I jumped out of a plane....
Some fun and otherwise ridiculous photos of my skydive over Lake Taupo, New Zealand (July 15th, 2010) in honour of Caitlin's last day at Rivier!

This is the initial scream as I jump out of the plane at 15,000 feet!

Hilarious facial contortionism

This one was the absolute worst and I just had to share it for that reason. Oh boy...

BAND AID GRANT!!!!!
AAAAHHHHHH!!!!! Congratulations to US!!!! We at Rivier Academy have just been awarded $10,000 from the MusiCounts Band Aid Grant to spend on brand new musical instruments! This is THE BEST NEWS EVER!!!!! Can you tell that I'm excited?!?!?!?!
Currently the Senior Band is sitting in the computer lab, researching information on new instruments - prices, brands, etc. Comment here if you have an idea! Wish list ideas? French horns? Tenor saxes? We definitely need new flutes and clarinets... a new baritone (with a CASE! Finally!)... leave your comments here!

Congratulations!
Congratulations to everyone for a fantastic run of "Where the Lilies Bloom" - what a great experience! You did an amazing job, and the responsive audiences that we had all weekend echoed my sentiments. Thank you all for your hard work, dedication, and excellent attitude throughout the entire process. Another great show for the record books!
Now, enjoy those free weekday evenings! :o)

Photo edits whilst home sick with bronchitis!
Computers 8 students - You can have fun with selective colouring edits on your own photos if you find a picture where your eyes are clearly visible. Turn your photo to black and white, apply it, then choose the "Tint" feature. Click the "Reverse Effect" tab, paint your eyes back on, and then slide the colour selector all over the colour palette to find some neat effects! (The one on the left reminds me of Kacie's crazy red contacts!) Have fun!
(PS - This isn't a required assignment; I just thought it might be fun if you are finished your assigned edits today or in future classes.)
