The light at the end of the tunnel...

Well, well, well!  No update on this blog in a  few days... if you've been around the hallways of Rivier this week and last you know it's because things have been busy, busy, BUSY!  Where do we start?

Last week we had an AWESOME concert on Wednesday evening that featured all of our Rivier bands, orchestras, and choir/jazz choir students, as well as two cultural dancers (Irish and Indian kathak dancing).  It was a lot of fun and everybody performed very well!  Now that the concert is over we are into "work bees" with the bands (cleaning, inventory, filing music, etc.), and the Senior Choir walked over to sing at Pineview yesterday.  Thank you to everyone for your hard work and dedication all year - I am so proud of you!

Regular classes are wrapping up this week, and with that come some due dates:

IP 10 music videos - Thursday June 14th
Computers 9I Seashore edits - Friday June 15th
Computers 8M outstanding photo editing assignments (overdue) - ASAP
IP 20/30 Yearbook - July 1st

Movie nights:

IP 10 music videos - Monday June 18th
Computers 8M photo editing portfolios - Thursday June 14th

African drumming ensembles

Just a reminder that if you'd like to be part of an African drumming ensemble for our concert on June 6th, please sign up on the sheet that will be posted on my homeroom door (7C).  It looks like we'll be performing "Luba" and our own composition based on the base pattern of "Marketplace."

Jazz choir recordings

Hi ladies.  Your "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" recordings are ready - they're just individual tracks of the piano playing each part, Soprano 1 through Alto 2 on 4 separate tracks.  If you need to use a recording for practice, bring me a USB sometime soon and I'll transfer your track over to you.
